About GECKO
GECKO - Giving Ever Child Knowledge of the Outdoors - was founded by endurance athlete and recent Marathon Des Sables competitor, Morgan Murri. Morgan describes his inspiration for founding GECKO:
"While, training, riding, running and racing through some of the most remote regions of our country I've had hours of 'raw', emotional, time to reflect on my purpose in life. I've come to the realization that anything I can do to help kids experience even a small part of what I see and experience while 'out there' can make a real difference in their lives...
Our Country was founded on adventurers. Leaders like Jefferson. Explorers like Lewis and Clark. These are qualities that our kids are missing, and close to losing forever.
For these reasons we have created GECKO. Our mission is to financially help kids and young adults, experience and reconnect with the outdoors. Helping kids find their purpose, develop independence and create leadership skills that will be a positive asset to our country."
